Previously Published Data

1.) Students write definitions and examples of each term in their Mathematics Journal.

2.) Given several graphs illustrating growth, decay, and constancy, students explain how the independent variable affects the dependent variable.
3.) Given an equation and a set of input values, students will complete the output table.
4.) Given a table with input values and some output values, students will complete the output table and state the equation.

Previously Published Data

1.) Given information, students will graph it. Example: Joe was making punch for the school dance. He began with 3 quarts of 7-up and then added 2 quarts each of different fruit juices until he reached 19 quarts of punch.

Students will:

  • Decide the independent and dependent variables
  • Make an input and output table
  • Describe the graph and explain what it represents
  • Determine if the relations define a function
  • Decide what predictions can be made from the graph
  • Write an equation for the graph
  •
