Previously Published Data

1.) Students will determine algebraic expressions by using algebra tiles. Example: Given 3 large squares, 4 rectangles, 6 small squares, they will make a rectangle and indicate its value with algebraic notation.

2.) Students will represent quadratic expressions by using algebra tiles and sketching the results on paper.
3.) Students will use tiles to factor quadratic equations and sketch their results.

Previously Published Data

1.) Students will solve a quadratic equation by factoring and by completing a square. They will explain how they decided which method to use.

2.) Students will prove the answer by graphing the equation.
3.) Students will solve Problems of the Week, such as, a box with no top is made by cutting out 2" squares from each corner of a square piece of cardboard and folding up the sides. The volume of the box is 8 cubic inches. How would you determine the size of the original cardboard?
