1.) Students will flip a coin 25 times and plot the accumulated percentage of heads on a graph after each coin flip. 2.) Students will make a box and whisker plot and will use the five number summary to describe the data, such as a run for times in a P.E. class 3.) Students will use the results of the last test to construct a stem-and-leaf plot and find the measures of central tendencies. 4.) Students will collect and analyze five different graphs or data charts. |
1.) Students will decide whether a scatter plot, a bar graph, or a line graph would be the best way to display the data below. They will explain their reasoning and draw a graph. Average daily water use in gallons per person per day: U.S.A.: 188; Canada: 142; Japan: 114; Spain: 102; France: 84; Germany: 50. Using the following prices (in cents) of frozen apple juice from various stores, students will make a stem-and-leaf plot and a box-and-whisker plot using the same data: 89, 79, 85, 79, 85, 67, 75, 99, 79, 63, 90, 72, 78, 65, 78.
