Previously Published Data 1.) Students will determine the height of an
unknown object, such as a building or a flagpole. They will use proportion
to determine the unknown height. First, students will go outside and determine
the ratio of their height to the length of their shadow. Then they will
measure the shadow of the unknown object. Using a proportion, the height
of the unknown object will be calculated. Next, cross products will be
used to find the solution.
