Previously Published Data 1.) Students will work in groups of four focusing
on one of the following categories: parts out of 100, written in words,
decimals, or fractions. When a percent is written on the board or overhead
projector, students in the group will write and show their answers to each
other, and all will raise their cards for the other groups to see only
after the group has reached consensus. They can help correct each other
if any answers are wrong. After 3 or 4 times, groups will trade category
cards and repeat with different percents. Eventually, they'll get practice
with each category. Next, students will work individually with a percent
and will write the equivalents in this manner: 75% = 75 parts out of 100
= 75 hundredths = 75/100 = .75

Previously Published Data 1.) Students will name the decimal and the
percent for the fraction 4/5.
