Previously Published Data

1.) Students will solve word problems and explain their reasoning. They will make precise calculations.

2.) Given three number sentences, students will write word problems to fit them. They will show their work and explain their reasoning.

3.) Students will form a border around a selected object. Given a variety of manipultives, students will decide which to use to build the border with the fewest items and the most items.

4.) Given a variety of word problems, students will indicate different strategies for setting up and solving the problem, and select and describe the one they think is best.

Previously Published Data

1.) In groups of 4, students will select the important information in a variety of word problems, identify the operations, write the number sentence and solve the problem, and check their results with other groups.

2.) Individually, students will select the important information in a variety of word problems, identify the operations, write the number sentence and solve the problem.

3.) Given three number sentences, students will write word problems to fit them.
