1.) Have students choose a book that interests them. As they are reading have them look for engaging passages and ultimately pick one passage to share. Students need to develop their presentations by completing the presentation planning sheets. Example of Passage Presentation Planning Form: Book Choice:____________ By:____________________ My one sentence introduction to my book is:_____________________ My passage is:__________ The reason I chose this passage is:______________ The music I will play in the background as I read is:_____________________ The reason I chose this music is:_____________________ I will depict my scene by drawing:________________ Remind students to practice their presentations at least two times either in front of a mirror or for someone. They must come to class prepared on their assigned presentation day. On the day of presentations, as students are speaking, audience members should be filling out the speaker feedback forms for at least ten of the student presenters. Later students will cut these into strips and deliver them to the speakers. |
