ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

JOB TITLE: Physical Education Teacher, Grades 7-12

POSITION ASSIGNMENT: Loyalton High School, Loyalton, CA, for the Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District, Sierra County

TERM: Long term substitute assignment beginning August 23, 2007 through December 2007

SALARY: Appropriate placement on Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District substitute salary or certificated salary schedule based on experience, degree(s) and post graduate units.

BENEFIT: CalSTRS, sick leave

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide physical education instruction and services for pupils in a departmentalized program as assigned. Provide instruction and adopt classroom curriculum in alignment with State standards. Provide consultation, counseling, and resource information to students and parents and develop assessments to serve the needs of individual students. Performs necessary non-teaching duties connected to classroom teaching and other duties as assigned by the superintendent and administrator. Prepare and maintain student records. Coordinate and supervise the work of paraprofessionals and evaluate personnel. Must communicate effectively with site administrator and staff and participate in school activities and planning. Must have knowledge of California Education Code and State curriculum standards. Opportunity for athletic coaching positions.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS: State of California Professional Clear or Preliminary Single Subject Physical Education teaching credential or ability to obtain a valid California credential allowing instruction in the assigned program/subject matter. Pre-employment physical and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance required prior to employment.
