TITLE: Mathematics Teacher, Grades 9-12

POSITION ASSIGNMENT: Downieville Jr/Sr High School, Downieville, CA, for the Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District, Sierra County

TERM: Full-time, 182 day school year; traditional school calendar

Beginning August 23, 2007

SALARY: Appropriate placement on Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified School District certificated salary schedule, $33,000 - $49,000, beginning salary, based on experience, degree(s) and post graduate units.

BENEFIT: Full health insurance (small employee contribution), CalSTRS, sick leave

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide mathematics subject area instruction and services for pupils in a departmentalized program as assigned. Provide instruction and adopt classroom curriculum in alignment with State standards. Provide consultation, counseling, and resource information to students and parents and develop assessments to serve the needs of individual students. Performs necessary non-teaching duties connected to classroom teaching and other duties as assigned by the superintendent and administrator. Prepare and maintain student records. Coordinate and supervise the work of paraprofessionals and evaluate personnel. Must communicate effectively with site administrator and staff and participate in school activities and planning. Must have knowledge of California Education Code and State curriculum standards.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS: State of California Professional Clear or Preliminary Single Subject Mathematics teaching credential or ability to obtain a valid California credential allowing instruction in the assigned program/subject matter. Seeking applicant who is fluent in foreign language (Spanish). Pre-employment physical and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance required prior to employment.
